Library Annex I Study Area

Library Annex I ("The Big Bubble") is located to the north of the main parking garage. Services include: study space, computers, research assistance, a help and information desk, Current Periodicals, and selected Library collections. 400 study seats with wireless network access and a large number of power outlets are available. The Information Commons computer lab is the largest on campus, with 170 computers. There are both PCs and Macs, as well as scanners and regular, color and large format printing. Video & audio editing stations are also available. Librarians are prepared to help at the research assistance desk. An information/ help desk is staffed to assist you with accessing the services. Finally, Current Periodicals, as well as some of the Reference and Government Publication collections are available for browsing, copying and checkout.

Book Pickup (HSS 101 and 107)

Pick up books requested through the Library catalog here. Then proceed to checkout in HSS 102.
HSS 101 and 107 also have two computers with access restricted to Library and SFSU sites, network printing and a photocopiers.

Distribution Services (HSS 102)

Book Checkout & Reserves This is where you check out books picked up in HSS 101 and 107. It is also the place to get books requested through Link+ and those put on reserve by your instructors. Distribution services staff in HSS 102 can help your clear up problems with your Library account and answer questions about Library fees and fines.

HSS 104 – Book Return

Return books checked out from the Library and from Link+ here. There is also a book return box outside on the south side of HSS, across from the Admin building. HSS 107 – Book Pick Up, Information / Research Help During busy periods books will also be placed in HSS 107 for pick up. An Information / Research Help desk is open from 9am – 5pm. Two computers with limited Internet access and three microform reader/printers are also available in this room HSS 127 – Library Media Services & Laptop Checkout Library Media Services (LMS) is the central distribution point for the University's non-print materials. Through LMS, students and faculty have access to media materials and equipment used in conjunction with courses and research. Here you can view DVD and VHS films, listen to audio recordings and borrow media placed on reserve by your instructors. Laptops can also be borrowed in HSS 127 for use anywhere on campus.
