Viewing, Listening to & Editing Media
Overview
The Library offers listening, viewing and editing of media in the Media Access Center (MAC) on the 3rd floor. Users must have a valid SF State ID (OneCard) or (or, in some cases, a Special Borrower Card and picture ID).
To inquire about equipment for recording video, please ask your instructor to contact Academic Technology for you.
Groups: MAC has 4 small group viewing/listening rooms for video or audio playback and cablecast viewings. The rooms accommodate 6 students and must be reserved in advance, for a minimum of 3 students.

The Media Access Center has equipment available for listening and viewing the following media formats.

Films held in the Library collection (Location: Media Access Center) can be viewed at most times when MAC is open. Videotapes require a 24 hour retrieval.
Films in the University collection (Location: Academic Technology) can be viewed weekdays when AT is open. The media is sent via cable from the AT Center. Reservations are recommended and must be made in person at the Media Access Center Desk; no phone reservations.
Editing
The Media Access Center has equipment available for editing the following types of media.

Two analog editing consoles are available (VHS/SVHS) for assemble and insert editing with special effects and titles. All of the systems are A/B roll capable. Reservations are required for access. Information about duplication. |
