Workstation Sign-On

Overview

The Library Workstation Sign-On system allows users to access Research, Express and Guest computer workstations located throughout the Library by signing on with a valid ID number. The system monitors the length of time available for each user, thus ensuring equitable access to computers in the Library. While these Library computers are primarily for students, faculty, staff and SF State affiliates, a limited number of computers are available for anyone to use.

Note: Workstation Sign-on is not used in the Library computer labs.

SF State Affiliated Users

SF State students, faculty and staff with a valid OneCard/SF State ID can sign-on using their University ID number. If you don’t know, or have forgotten your University ID number, you can look it up using your social security number and PAC.

Other affiliated users, such as members of Friends of the Library, can sign-on using their special borrower ID number.

Guest Users

Guest users must first register for a Guest Card and ID number at Circulation Services on the 1st floor of the Library. Guest users must present a valid state photo ID or a passport in order to obtain the card. Guest users can then sign-on to one of the “Guest Workstations," which have green screens and labels.
