Media Access Center Workshops
Workshop Overview
All workshops are held in the Media Access Center (3rd floor, Library, SF State). Workshops are limited to 5 students and space is available on a first come first serve basis.
Digital Editing Orientation
The Digital Editing Orientation is designed to introduce basic project setup, and to familiarize patrons with Media Access Center policies regarding the digital editing equipment. This workshop is required in order to access this equipment. Patrons will not be allowed to schedule time on the Digital Editing Equipment until they have completed this workshop.
Digital Editing Workshop
This workshop covers basic digital video editing using Final Cut Pro. Topics includes project setup, input/output of source video, making edits, using effects/transitions, and creating titles. This course is not a substitute for the Digital Editing Orientation. Orientation is still required to access equipment.
Analog Editing Workshop
This workshop introduces basic analog video editing. Learn how to prepare video source material, basic cut editing, adding audio to video projects, and simple title generation. This course is recommended for students with little or no previous video editing experience.
