Getting Started

Use the Find Reserves & Course Materials links to locate copies of articles, books, or other items, which faculty have provided the Library for their students to borrow for short periods of time.

• Hardcopy Reserves For paper copies of books
• eReserves For electronic copies of articles and other readings
• Audio/Video Reserves For video, music, recordings of course lectures and other media

Instructors may also place course material in the two Learning Management Systems used at SF State

Textbooks

In general, the Library does not purchase copies of textbooks. In some cases your professor may make a textbook available in Hardcopy Reserves, or place sections of a textbook in the Electronic Reserves system, eRes.
