Information for Visitors
Welcome!
The Library is in final phase of an expansion and renovation project, during which most Library services have been relocated to alternate campus locations.
Library Locations during the Building Project:
Using the Collection
The vast majority of our collections are now available only by request. Requests can be made by SF State students, faculty and staff, as well as by affiliated users who have registered with Distribution Services for a Special Borrower ID. See the Special Borrower page for more information.
Nonaffiliated users may join the Friends of the Library to obtain borrowing privileges. Another way of borrowing books from our collection is to contact a library that you are affiliated with, such as your local public library, to see if they can get the book for you via Interlibrary Loan.
Current periodicals and a small collection of reference and government publications are out on open shelves.
Library electronic resources may be used on campus. See computer access info below. But off-campus access is limited to current SF State students, staff and faculty.
Computer Access
Members of the general public must sign up for a Guest account to be able to use Library computers. Use is limited to 2 hours per day.
