LARC Annual Celebration 2012The Labor Archives and Research Center celebrated its 26th anniversary with a program focusing on the work of noted historian Allan Bérubé. Bérubé wrote the groundbreaking book “Coming Out Under Fire: Gays in the Military During World War II” and did extensive research on gay labor history before he passed away. Stanford professor Estelle Freedman, editor of My Desire for History: Essays on Gay, Community, and Labor History by Allan Bérubé, will discuss Bérubé’s work and present a segment of his slide show highlighting one of the most radical and gay friendly unions of the 1930s-1950s. “No Race-Baiting, Red-Baiting or Queer-Baiting!”
