How Do I Get to Labor Archives and Research Center
The Labor Archives and Research Center is the San Francisco State University Library's only offsite unit. The Labor Archives is located within the Sutro Library Building at 480 Winston Drive behind the Stonestown Galleria mall, just north of the San Francisco State University campus on the western edge of San Francisco.

By car:
From Bay Bridge or downtown San Francisco: Take 101 South, then 280 South towards Daly City. Exit off Ocean Avenue and turn right onto Ocean Avenue. Continue on Ocean Avenue for about 1½ miles. Make a left turn on Junipero Serra and stay on the right. Make a right turn on Winston and continue through the underpass of the Stonestown Mall. At the stop sign after the underpass, continue straight ahead. The Labor Archives is located in the Sutro Library Building, which will be on the right shortly after the curve in the road.
San Francisco Peninsula or San Francisco International airport: Take 280 North to 19th Avenue. Stay on 19th Avenue and make a left on Winston Drive. Continue through the underpass of the Stonestown Shopping Mall. At the stop sign after the underpass, continue straight ahead. The Labor Archives is located in the Sutro Library Building, which will be on the right shortly after the curve in the road.
Golden Gate Bridge: Take Park Presidio South through Golden Gate Park towards 19th Avenue. Stay on 19th Avenue and make a right turn on Winston Drive. Continue through the underpass of the Stonestown Mall. At the stop sign after the underpass, continue straight ahead. The Labor Archives is located in the Sutro Library Building, which will be on the right shortly after the curve in the road.

Parking
The Labor Archives is located within the Sutro Library Building at 480 Winston Drive, San Francisco. The Sutro Library and the Labor Archives share a parking lot available for customers who must come into the Labor Archives to obtain a (free) permit to put on the dashboard of their car. (The sign at the entrance says that parking is by permit only). Street parking is severely limited when San Francisco State University is in session. Paid parking is available in a commercial lot down the hill on Winston from the Sutro Library/Labor Archives Building. Please note that there is no sidewalk between the Sutro Library/Labor Archives Building and that lot. The ground is rough and uneven and, in rainy weather, can be muddy. The only hard, smooth surface to and from that lot is in the street next to the traffic.

Take any San Francisco-bound BART train to the Daly City BART station.
From BART Daly City Station to the Labor Archives take the free shuttle to SFSU campus or take the 28 Muni bus:
Free SFSU shuttle from Daly City BART:
SFSU runs a free shuttle service to campus from the Daly City BART station during the normal school year. Take the shuttle bus to lot 25 at the north edge of campus on Winston Drive and walk 2 blocks up the hill to the Sutro Library/ Labor Archives Building.
MUNI bus service from BART Daly City Station:
Obtain a transfer (good for one ride to & from BART) from the machine in the lobby before exiting the station. Take the MUNI 28 bus in the direction of SFSU campus. Exit at the 19th Ave. & Winston Drive (Stonestown) stop. The Labor Archives is located at 480 Winston Drive, two blocks behind the mall.
By MUNI streetcar from downtown San Francisco:
From downtown San Francisco, take MUNI Metro M-Oceanview streetcar to the Stonestown stop at 19th Avenue and Winston Drive. The Labor Archives is located at 480 Winston Drive, two blocks behind the mall.
